New Moon Energy: conjures the goddess Hekate, one of the oldest goddesses. The gods and goddesses that I work with in astrology, stem from the Greek and Roman. Hekate, like many goddesses, is even older because the people who populated that part of the Mediterranean were very goddess-oriented. When the people from what we now call the Russian Steppes came into the peninsula, their main mythology was of Zeus, the lightning and thunder god. They took the things they wanted from the older cultures and wove them in to what is known as Greek mythology.
Then the Romans came and they had a whole different orientation. They wove myths together to suit their patriarchal perspective. And now in this second millennium, the ideal is to shape shift into a cooperative society that works patriarchal in tandem with matrilineal. Yet we are in baby stages and we see resistance to a more egalitarian system throughout the entire globe.
But new moons are great time to invite in new ways of being. And the Capricorn new moon specifically speaks about how we can do that in a way that creates new forms.
